Warehouse logistics and automated guided vehicles
AGVs - Automated Guided Vehicles - have become indispensable for internal logistics in industry. The self-propelled units transport entire vehicles from one work station to the next, e.g. in manufacturing in the automotive industry; in warehouses, goods are loaded or unloaded on shuttles. Through well-planned processes, the vehicles - or more precisely the ULTRACAP storage units - are recharged at defined stations in very short times. Long downtimes for battery changes or recharging are eliminated and thus continuous production operation is guaranteed.
Intelligent recuperation, an important energy-saving factor
In stacker cranes, they recuperate the energy that is used and recovered by the constant lifting movements. This contributes to energy saving. For many years this was an incidental effect of the use of ULTRACAP, but today it is gaining enormous importance again.
With the possibility of 24-hour operation, these robotic vehicles are the ideal addition to today's manufacturing plants and warehouses.
Operation of ultracaps in the cold store
CAPCOMP project
The first application of this kind that we planned many years ago was a warehouse shuttle for cold stores, as electrochemical batteries could not tolerate the low temperatures and the cable drags used up to now wore out quickly.
The high cycle stability of up to 1 million charges and discharges also ensures a long service life. The 48V/165F modules have proven to be the ideal solution for this application and are considered the standard. CAPCOMP carries these modules as a preferred product and they are therefore readily available.
Even in automated car parks, transport shuttles are already being used to park cars automatically and then hand them back to the customer on request. This concept is based on the principle of computer-controlled chaotic storage.
Together with our partners and our customers, we design the optimal layout of the energy storage systems, the charging points and the driving course for the respective applications. We advise our customers on the energy-efficient use of ULTRACAP and support them in the further electrification and digitalisation of logistics processes.
