Ultra-thin miniature supercap cells
Increasing demands on power density, charge and discharge cycles, life span and maintenance effort are forcing electronics developers to further miniaturise the components. More and more industries, such as transport & logistics or agriculture (precision farming), use small handheld devices with energy-intensive applications such as wireless data transmission (RFID, WLAN, Bluetooth), LED flash, scan/print functions, GPS, etc. The solution are ultra-thin, prismatic mini-cells.
Supercapacitors provide both peak and reserve power
These devices must have both a long battery life and be able to absorb short-term peak loads. The extremely small, ultra-thin UTRACAP MINATURE CELLS from CAP-XX can meet these requirements in a very small space. Thin as a coin and excellent ESR values, leakage currents and other key parameters. Here, the facts prove it (see data sheets).
Function and advantages of ULTRACAP in mobile devices (handhelds)
- Support of pulse power
- Extension of battery life
- Data security during drop test (batterycontacts rattle)
- Data backup in case of batterychange
- Data security during controlled/uncontrolled shutdown
- Low ESR
- Operation at low temperatures and batterysupport
